We stayed at Discovery Beach Resort in October 2009. It was our second stay at DBR. We love everything about the resort, especially the friendly employees. Our favorite was Maureen the Activities Director. She was great with every single person around the pool area. She makes the kids all feel important by remembering their names and played pool games to suit each of their interests. The adults all loved her too. We all waited around the pool for her so we could play bingo and other games. She has such a great personality and does such a wonderful job that she can't possibly get paid enough for what she brings to the Discovery Beach Resort. We LOVE the poolside lounge chairs. It's hard to make it to the beach, once you lay on one of them. We'll be back again this year and cannot wait. The front desk girls were all very helpful too. Our week at Discovery Beach Resort was great. Beautiful sunrises from the balcony with my morning coffee, spacious units with full kitchen, close proximity to terrific seafood and activities scheduled by their Director of Recreation, Maureen, made the week memorable. Location was easy to access from Orlando Airport. Overall a wonderful location for the rest & relaxation we had planned. Marilyn

We recently stayed at the Discovery Beach Resort for a week with our RCI Timeshare. This was our second year in Cocoa Beach; several years ago we stayed at the Ron Jon Surf Club. The layout and square footage of the rooms is almost the same if not identical. Clearly, not only being within immediate proximity of the beach, but overlooking the beach is a major advantage over the Ron Jon Surf Club. On the other side of the coin, their hotel amenities, particularly the pool area and indoor playground are particularly noteworthy. The bar / reastuarant areas are largely comparable in terms of the quality of the food. That being said, there is one quality in particular which Discovery Beach Resort offers that Ron Jon Surf Club does not... and at the end of the day, it is a critical differentiator that guarantees our return visit to Discovery Beach Resort. At Ron Jon Surf Club, our children were required to wear wrist bands where-ever they traveled on the property. At Discovery Beach Resort, members of the staff both knew and remembered my daughters' names. In particular, Maureen who leads the Guest Services / Activities desk did a sensational job insuring my kids (Marlie, Casey and Dylan) were having a great time. She greeted them by name each morning, got them excited about the day's activities and, even switched from shooting hoops (which they were still too young to do) to conducting an age appropriate Trivia Contest mid-activity, as part of her efforts to make sure they were always having fun! Similar savvy was readily apparent at all of the pool activities... my kids were engaged, excited and eagerly participated in all of the games she conducted... her patience, generosity and flexibility in allowing the kids to choose their "awards" was just awesome. At the end of the day, its people like Maureen, who are committed to insuring my family's vacation is wonderful, that will insure our future patronage.

We recently bought a timeshare at this resort, and this was our first visit - we stayed a week. The resort exceeded our expectations. It was clean and well maintained throughout, with accessible and helpful staff. Our unit was large and spacious, and was fully equipped. We cooked most of our own meals in the full size kitchen. However, we also enjoyed the onsite restaurant that posted yummy specials each day. We appreciated the convenience of having our own washer & dryer in the unit. All the units have ocean front views and furnished balconies with spectacular views of the beach and surf. The resort has a wonderful Activities Director, Maureen, who was extremely helpful. She had many activities scheduled for those who were interested (we went on the beach walk, to the onsite wildlife show and to the space shuttle program briefing). We enjoyed the pool area and hot tub -- including pool activities (water aerobics, poolside bingo, and live entertainment). It is a short walk to the beach on a private resort path. We often took beach walks, including a walk to the nearby Cocoa Beach Pier. We also enjoyed the resort's movie room - which was contantly showing recent releases (we brought our own popcorn from our unit). The resort has an exercise room which also includes computers and printers - we also had internet access in our unit. The resort's location was great for us - there is plenty to do in and around Cocoa Beach.

AFTER MANY YEARS OF PERSONAL LOSS & HARDSHIPS, OUR FAMILY WAS ABLE TO TAKE OUR 1ST FAMILY TRIP THE LAST 2 WEEKS OF APRIL 2009. OUR TRAVEL AGENT CHOSE DISCOVERY BEACH RESORT FOR US. I EXPECTED TO FIND OURSELVES IN A TYPICAL HOTEL ROOM, BUT WHAT WE ENDED UP WITH WAS WAY BEYOND WHAT WE COULD HAVE EVER HOPED FOR!! FOR 2 WEEKS WE DIDN'T HAVE A HOTEL ROOM, WE HAD A HOME AND NONE OF US WANTED TO EVER LEAVE. THE STAFF WAS FANTASTIC AND TOOK CARE OF EVERY NEED WE HAD...ABOVE & BEYOND WHAT THEY HAD TOO!!! I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS RESORT TO ANYONE! MY HUSBAND AND I ARE BOTH DISABLED AND THINGS WERE DONE TO ACCOMODATE ALL OF OUR NEEDS!! MY HUSBAND & 3 CHILDREN ARE TRYING TO CONVINCE ME TO MOVE DOWN TO FLORIDA BECAUSE WE HAD SUCH A GREAT TIME, BUT FOR NOW WE ARE JUST IN THE PROCESS OF PLANNING OUR 2010 TRIP TO DISCOVERY BEACH RESORT! WE CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK DOWN THERE!!! WE HAVE ONLY GOOD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT DISCOVERY BEACH RESORT!! THANKS FOR A FANTASTIC VACATION GUYS!!!

I just want to say that my husband and I had the TIME OF OUR LIVES! when we were there in March... We were on our "Anna-Birthday"... You see, My birthday, as well as my husband's are the same...AND, we GOT MARRIED on that day, hence, the 'Anna-Birthday' thing... But, I must say that Maureen Blanchette MADE our trip... She was the BEST!!! Funny, intelligent, and very helpfull! I hope her Supervisors see this... That Girl NEEDS a commendation! Or at least a raise!:)

I wanted to take a moment to write and tell you how wonderful our stay with you was. We stayed June 17-20 (2009) and were very sad to leave! This was our first time in Cocoa Beach as a family, we found your website and booked on a whim. Let me just say that everything, and I mean EVERYTHING exceeded my expectations. From all staff that we had contact with, to your building, your pool, your roooms, your location... just everything! You all are doing things right and have made us want to come back again and again! We hope to return for a longer stay next June and look forward to seeing you again! Thank You

“Great Place - solo or with family/friends” This is the fifth year I have stayed at this resort. Always come with family (usually grandchildren). Each condo faces the ocean with a balcony and just a couple yds away from nice beach. Adult, children and teen friendly. Good surfing area. Pool and hot tub clean and nice. Tennis and basketball courts. Staff helpful and friendly. Neat coastal habitat and turtle nesting. You can see the shuttle launches from your balcony if you happen to come during launch time. Shopping and lots of restaurants close by. Orlando about 45 minutes away. Cape Kennedy a few miles and the space museum. Casino cruises if you are interested.

I loved staying at Discovery Beach Resorts with my sister and family! It was very enjoyable, a quiet and relaxing environment and very many nice employees! Thank you for providing a great hotel on Cocoa Beach!

We enjoyed OUR stay at this Resort,4 adults, The convenience ,the location, even a satellite launch which was fantastic and included an educational commentary from the maintenance man ,who was very knowledgeable. However , be cautious when you check out (as you should at any resort ) and have your condo checked by personnel to be cleared of any damage .

We returned to The Resort on Cocoa Beach again January 3-9, 2009, for our second early January Florida vacation. We had enjoyed our stay in early January 2008 so much that we exchanged for the same week at the same resort again this year. This year we were joined by several family members and close friends, making our group 11 total in two 2-BR units at that resort and one 2-BR unit at Discovery Beach Resort just a mile or two up the beach. We had some difficulties balancing everyone's different interests, idiosyncrasies, and vacation philosophies. No one wanted to be "in charge," either, but they kept acting as if we were supposed to be. Live and learn. Both resorts were very nice. They actually are sister resorts managed by the same timeshare company. The Resort on Cocoa Beach is larger and has more amenities but most of its units are oceanview. Discovery Beach Resort is smaller but all units there are oceanfront. The units at both resorts have been very well maintained and remodeled within the last few years. The most significant thing about both is the very friendly, helpful attitude of the staffs--it reflects extremely well on the resort company that runs both. Once again this year, some of our best experiences were enjoying nature on the Space Coast. The public boat ramps near Freedom 7 Elementary School again opened up the Thousand Islands of the Banana River lagoon where several of us saw hundreds, perhaps thousands, of birds, including the largest great blue herons I've ever seen. We also saw manatees and even a dolphin within just a few feet of the boat ramps. Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge was again terrific, especially the wildlife drive. The Brevard Zoo in Melbourne (especially feeding the lorakeets) was a highlight. I even got in some surf paddling in my inflatable kayak. This year we spent one day helping on a Habitat for Humanity house. Our family has traded charitable contributions in lieu of gifts at Christmas for several years and we decided doing volunteer work together would be a nice alternative. Not everyone agreed with the idea at first, but I think all of us who worked that day really enjoyed it. The local Habitat chapter seems well able to accommodate help from folks outside the local area. We worked on framing walls on the bare slab we found when we got to the site. It was really fantastic to be able to see such progress in one day's work. We got four walls built (with framing for doors and windows) and actually raised two of them. The Habitat worker onsite encouraged us to sign the wall joists after we got one exterior wall raised and write something about our hopes for the occupants--it was quite moving. Three of us took the SunCruz casino cruise one night. Two playing craps were fairly lucky but one playing poker wasn't so lucky. The crew and casino staff were very friendly and we enjoyed ourselves but we didn't expect a glamorous cruise and weren't disappointed. We've reserved a 2-BR oceanfront unit at Discovery Beach Resort for the first week of 2010. We've never returned on an annual basis to any timeshare vacation location and next year will be three in a row for us in Cocoa Beach. That says more than anything else I could write about how much we like it. It's not as far as Ft. Lauderdale/Miami but it is significantly warmer than Jacksonville/St. Augustine that time of year in our experience. I can't stand even the idea of driving on the beach, so it's better for us than the Daytona Beach area, too. My advice remains the same--get away from Orlando and see the real Florida. Enjoy the many wonderful state and local parks and low-key, low-cost options to enjoy yourself.

Dear Maureen, How are you? We arrived home safely this past weekend, and I've been on the go ever since. I remembered that I couldn't send the photos from Discovery Beach because my laptop broke down, thank heavens I have my desktop at home! Here are the pictures I promised; I will send them one at a time because they are large files. Thank you again for your cheerful disposition during our stay at Discovery Beach; it truly was a pleasure. Please feel free to pass on this commendation of your work to your supervisor at Discovery Beach as my personal endorsement of your job! Sincerely, Matthew J Andrew

We stay at the Discovery Beach Resort every year and it remains a great place to stay. You can't find better beach-front in Cocoa Beach. Every room is OCEAN FRONT. They are clean and well-equipped with everything you need. The front desk staff is nice if you are nice. When we were checking in, there was a couple yelling and screaming at the front desk because they didn't get a room called "Nautalis Suites"...with a larger balcony. They were yelling and trying to bully the staff into giving them what they wanted even though those suites were booked. The front desk staff finally had to say "look, we can't give you one. We simply don't have it." Some people just can't be pleased. DSC is close to everything you'd want to do in the area. It's within walking distance of the pier, Ron Jons Surf Shop. And just a couple minute's drive to the cruise terminals, supermarkets, restraunts, etc...It's exactly 1 hour to Disney World and all of the Orlando attractions. This year is the first year we tried surf-fishing. There is a dive/ bait/tackle shop just up the road that was selling complete ocean rods set ups for $30. We bought one and some bait and caught quite a few fish...Drum, Whiting, etc...

Morning, My sister and brother-in-law used my reservation last week (room 418) and since they've been back they can't say enough how enjoyable a time they had at Discovery. I think they like it there as much as we do. See you in March. Thanks,Mike

We purchased a unit in this condo before it was built and has been going every year since! We had the wonderful opportunity to purchase another unit (same one might I add) the following week. So we FINALLY get 2 weeks this year!!! We have never changed our destination! The people are great, the view is the best and we LOVE it! VACATION 2008.......HERE WE COME!

We exchanged our two bedroom condo timeshare week from Pompano Beach for a week at the Discovery Resort. We stayed in a two-bedroom on the sixth floor. We loved the accomodations, especially the oceanfront master room with the king-size bed. It is really nice to lie in bed and watch the waves and listen to the sounds of the ocean. The balcony was hugh and the unit was well maintained and clean. The pool is a nice size and clean as well. The restaurant on the premises wasn't open. We were disappointed in the restaurants there, but that's no reflection on the resort. We had a great italian dinner at Bella's in Melbourne, but weren't impressed with any others that we visited. The personnel at the front desk were friendly and helpful. We hope to go back soon for a few days if they have availability.

This is our 4th year here and we own 2 weeks. We have never been treated badly here. The staff from the top to the bottom has always been very friendly to us from the time we check in to the time we check out. The resort is very clean and well kept. The pool is very nice. They have things for you to do just about very day if you want to do them. The view is the greatest from your room. It is fun just to sit on your balcony and watch the beach. The balcony is very large and the railing is safe for kids.

This place is soooooo awesome! I went here because of a family reunion. And I don't think it would have been as fun if we didn't stay at the Discovery Beach Resort. We are actually going back in a few days. We are all really excited. This place is great for everyone of all ages. It's not that far from Disney World either! There hasn't been one day when we haven't talked about it. There were about 15 of us and I'm sure everyone had a fantastic time. This is the place to be if you like beautiful views, an awesome pool, and time to be with your family.

We’ve been vacationing at Discovery Beach Resort once every few years since 1992 and our experience this past vacation, which was July 26th to August 2nd has been just like all of the others there. Perfect. We always look forward to staying here because we know we are going to have a premier room with a premier view. We know what to expect. The place is always clean, the views from the balcony are always great and the staff is always ready to accommodate any needs we may have. The showers are hot, the air conditioning is cool, all appliances work, you get the picture. Although the restaurant may have limited hours, it doesn’t affect us as we have found some favorites that we visit while staying at Discovery. There are plenty of good ones in the area. The rules don’t bother us and they won’t be a bother to any responsible individual. If you’re planning on being irresponsible and causing problems, then you might not have a good time there as the resort won’t tolerate it. This is a good thing. The Security staff is visible throughout the day and night – another plus for the property. We like the property’s location in Cocoa Beach. The area is still not that crowded, although it is growing. Its proximity to main attractions – one hour to the Orlando area, 30 minutes to Kennedy Space Center make it an ideal location from which to take day trips. If you’re looking for a place where you can spend quality time with your family, all the amenities of home and have a relaxing, as well as a great time, then Discovery Beach Resort is your best bet. Did I mention the views from the Balcony?

My husband & I spent our honeymoon (Oct. 21-27, 2007) at the Discovery Beach Resort. The desk staff was very welcoming and gave us much paper information such as resort activities/events, instructions, and other pertinent paper needed for our stay. We found our two bedroom accommodations wonderful. It was very clean, spacious, & the oceanview was awesome. We would have brought the kids, but it was our honeymoon. Smiles. We cooked all of our meals in the fully-equipped kitchen, went to the pool, visited the beach, & the Kennedy Space Center. Other days we just sat out on the balcony and enjoyed the view and/or read. We even visited the gameroom and played air hockey & pinball. We loved the fact that housekeeping only came once a week. We aren't slobs so we didn't need it, but only to change out towels. And there was an abundant amount of towels, dishes, glasses, utensils, pots/pans, etc. Everything we needed was there except the food, which we bought at Walmart. We would definitely visit again and bring the kids. I felt our experience at the Discovery Beach Resort was relaxing, enjoyable, and helped make our honeymoon a special time. We had great conversations with staff at the activities' desk and Jeannette, who was the housekeeper assigned to our area. Thank you!

We stayed at the resort last weekend and it was awesome. The service was great, everything was clean, and the area spectacular. We would stay there again no doubt about it.

My wife and I stayed with you two years ago, and had a great time. We will be there again 05-10-08 with my family. I told him that your resort was the best. We can not wait to get there this coming Saturday.

Patrick Shrout

We have stayed many times over several years and it just keeps getting better. Everyone from the maintenance and housekeeping departments to everyone at the front desk; so friendly and helpful. We had three adult children and most of our grandchildren with us for spring break. From Teenagers to two year olds they really enjoyed the animals, bingo, trivia, swimming pool and of course the ocean and beach. The Older children enjoyed pick up basketball every night. It was so easy to drive to Disney, Dodger town, and Kennedy Space Center. We definitely plan to return to Discovery. We had a great family reunion.

Compliments on the pool area: Always clean with whirlpool and pool at just the right temperature, especially on a cool night, just right. Best we have ever stayed at! Also the staff is extremely helpful and eager to please guests.
